About The Inn

The Inn is perched on 125 acres of the Niagara Escarpment (UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve) overlooking the pristine Pretty River Valley Provincial Park minutes away from the Bruce Trail. Collingwood is ten minutes away with many restaurants and four seasons’ recreational attractions. A country retreat boasting wood burning fireplaces in all accommodations provides a romantic ambiance that is so welcome for those special getaways. Come stroll through organic orchards, trails or relax by the pond or salt water swimming pool. The Inn is home to reindeer (in training for Xmas), horses, and rare breed chickens.

The Pretty River Valley Country Inn has 11 accommodation choices all with the world famous Tempur-pedic sleep systems. The choices are: studios, two-room suites to two-story crofts with magnificent views of the valley. All have wood burning fireplaces, seating areas and private baths, many with double Jacuzzi whirlpool tubs. Eight are located in the main Log Inn and three are in the newly renovated Crofts at Homefarm, the original Victorian red brick homestead, located a two minute walk from the Inn past the restored barn.

Dining

Awake to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and home baking that are part of your complimentary full country breakfast. For group golf getaways or family reunions let us provide full dinners and home cooking at its best. A BBQ and picnic table overlooks the horse paddock and the Inn can provide the accessories to enjoy a BBQ. Bagged trail lunches are provided for our guests. Within 15 minutes you are spoiled for choice regarding fine dining.

Recreation

Stay and play at the Inn - hike our trails, swim, or stroll through organic apple orchards, or relax by the pond. In winter, snowshoe the Inn property (snowshoes provided) The Inn is home to rare breed Chickens, Reindeer (in training for Xmas), and Miniature, Icelandic and Percheron horses that are always happy to see our guests. The spectacular Bruce Trail (highest point on the trail) is minutes away for hiking. Georgian Trail (cycling-32 km), and access to off road biking is a short ride away. Wasaga Beach situated on the world’s longest freshwater beach, on Georgian Bay, is twenty minutes away.

Ski Blue Mountain: Ontario’s finest mountain is minutes away. With prior notice we can arrange skiing at a private ski club in the area.

Cross Country Skiing: A must do is Highlands Nordic, Scenic Caves Nature Reserve and Wasaga Beach Provincial Park Blueberry Trails Nordic Centre.

Dog Sledding: Let your hosts book an exhilarating experience for you at our neighbours farm.

Waterfall Tour: Visit the second highest waterfall in Ontario (23 metres) in Eugenia or perhaps visit all of our famous waterfalls in a self guided tour. Grey Highlands

Scenic Caves:  Beautiful natural caves, scenic lookout. Running/hiking shoes are required. One of Canada’s longest 410’ suspension bridges is well worth the experience.

Theatre:
