When you visit us at
the Domain, you will enjoy the charm of a small personal inn
appointed for 22 guests and set amidst a 2,250 hectare (5,000
acre) private wilderness estate. Play tennis, enjoy silent water
sports, fly-fish on our stocked lakes, or hike through the forest
and hills to a pioneer cabin. In winter, a whirlpool and fireplace
await your return from our private ski trails or night lit skating
rink. In the evening, our team of chefs from France will make
dining a special moment to savour. Untypical, uncompromised, an
oasis of quiet sophistication nestled in Ontario's beautiful
Haliburton Highlands.

The Domain offers five
rooms in the inn and seven lakeside cabins. The cabins have
generous bedsitting rooms, each with fully appointed bath, a
fireplace and a private, restful view of the lake and encircling
forest. The rooms in the inn have whirlpool baths and cedar-lined
dressings areas; some cabins have whirlpool baths. Both inn and
cabin accommodations are furnished with the finest amenities.
For the best retreat of all, spend a day in the fully winterized
cabin on remote Delphis Lake. Accessible by hiking or by
cross-country skiing, the cabin can be the basis for a very
special wilderness experience.
The Domain is a member of the Relais du Silence association, which
means that we place a premium on providing a peaceful atmosphere
for our guests. We do not have radios, televisions, or anything
else that will intrude upon the natural silence of our property.
You will appreciate this restful ambience in all of our guest
rooms.
The
Domain pays special attention to the joys of the table. The menu
varies daily, reflecting the many facets of French cuisine. We use
the freshest available ingredients, organically-grown herbs and
vegetables from our own garden, and careful, imaginative
preparation to create an experience to remember. Complement your
evening with one of our carefully selected wines. Anticipate,
relax, enjoy…dining at the Domain is an experience to savour.
Our breakfast is a buffet of cereals, yogurt, and our own
croissants and bread. Various hot dishes are provided, including a
breakfast special of the day. Picnic lunches are provided for
guests who are spending the day on the trail or on the lake.
During the summer, light lunches are available on the patio.
