Once the Haliburton
estate of Sir Samuel Hughes, the inn has historic charm and classic
elegance. Magnificently situated on Eagle Lake, we celebrate nature
through a host of activities. At our beachfront, you may water-ski,
windsurf, sail, kayak or canoe. There is an outdoor pool and hot
tub, and an indoor sauna. Our dining room offers a fresh selection
of delectable appetizers, entrees and sweets daily—all
complemented by wines from our unique cellar. We have intimate
lakeside accommodations, and most of our rooms have fireplaces and
whirlpools. At Sir Sam's, what nature doesn't offer….we do.

Nature's
bounty is celebrated in Sir Sam's dining room. Our kitchen, one of
the best north of Toronto, serves inviting selections of appetizers,
entrees and sweets fresh daily. We invite you to tour our wine
cellar, accessible from the dining room by way of a curving wrought
iron staircase, where we host an interesting collection.
Our dining room has a sweeping view of the waterfront, and two-sided
fireplace. It is romantic during the evening, and basks in sunshine
during the day. Gunner's Pub offers music, pool table, shuffleboard,
darts and a tempting selection of refreshments.
