Words from the Innkeeper

This historic inn, located on the shores of Lake Huron in the heritage village of Bayfield, has been welcoming guests with friendly hospitality since 1832. The Little Inn provides the charms of yesterday in concert with the amenities of today: exceptionally comfortable beds, white cloud-like duvets, double whirlpools, fireplaces, private verandahs, a Four Diamond restaurant with a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and a calendar of events to make any visit an experience. Something to do or nothing to do any time of the year. The surrounding countryside, with its huge expanse of sky and lush farmland, also includes the sandy shores of Lake Huron.

Accommodations The Little Inn of Bayfield
Little Inn of Bayfield accommodationsThe guest rooms are filled with remnants of Ontario's past, from a polished sleigh bed of bird's eye maple to weathered rocking chairs. Plump duvets cover pine beds so high you need a stool to clamber in; underfoot are original pine plank floors. (Toronto Life Magazine)

Guests can choose from rooms at the main inn, or at the "Guest Cottage," which is located just across the street. Inn rooms are furnished to period, and have views over the gardens or along the quaint streets of the village. Several have private verandahs. The Widow's Walk has a secluded retreat in the rooftop cupola—the best place to watch the skies over Lake Huron. At the Guest Cottage, our 1987 expansion, all rooms have ensuite whirlpool baths and private verandahs and some rooms have fireplaces.
