This historic inn, located on the shores of Lake Huron in the
heritage village of Bayfield, has been welcoming guests with
friendly hospitality since 1832. The Little Inn provides the charms
of yesterday in concert with the amenities of today: exceptionally
comfortable beds, white cloud-like duvets, double whirlpools,
fireplaces, private verandahs, a Four Diamond restaurant with a Wine
Spectator Award of Excellence, and a calendar of events to make any
visit an experience. Something to do or nothing to do any time of
the year. The surrounding countryside, with its huge expanse of sky
and lush farmland, also includes the sandy shores of Lake
Huron.

The
guest rooms are filled with remnants of Ontario's past, from a
polished sleigh bed of bird's eye maple to weathered rocking chairs.
Plump duvets cover pine beds so high you need a stool to clamber in;
underfoot are original pine plank floors. (Toronto Life Magazine)
Guests can choose from rooms at the main inn, or at the
"Guest Cottage," which is located just across the street.
Inn rooms are furnished to period, and have views over the gardens
or along the quaint streets of the village. Several have private
verandahs. The Widow's Walk has a secluded retreat in the rooftop
cupola—the best place to watch the skies over Lake Huron. At the
Guest Cottage, our 1987 expansion, all rooms have ensuite whirlpool
baths and private verandahs and some rooms have fireplaces.

Sitting
near the big windows in the inn's brick and pine heritage dining
room and eating rather fine food, one imagines that rural Canada has
at last caught a whiff of the good life. (Joanne Kates, The Globe
& Mail)
Dining at The Little Inn is an experience in itself. The Inn's
Four-Diamond dining rooms are justly famous for their superb meals
and imaginative menus. Our bright dining rooms are a delightful
setting for luncheons, dinners and all special occasions.
The Little Inn won a world-renowned Award of Excellence from the
Wine Spectator for the 178 wines in the cellar (150 vineyards
represented), and our pub has over 20 varieties of single malt
whiskeys in stock.
