Words from the Innkeeper

The Elora Mill Inn has a dramatic setting, towering above the thundering falls of the Grand River and Elora Gorge. It has stood for over 175 years in Elora, Ontario. A nineteenth-century grist mill converted to a country inn, the mill is in the heart of Ontario's Festival Country. All our rooms are accented with antiques or period reproductions; some have fireplaces and one even has a double whirlpool tub. The fireside dining room overlooks the waterfall; our cuisine features local ingredients prepared with a continental flair.

Accommodations The Elora Mill Inn
A room at the Elora MillWe have thirty-two uniquely designed rooms and suites in four historic buildings: the mill and in three neighbouring buildings. Our mill rooms are as unique as the quarry stones in the mill walls. Some bedrooms have fireplaces and vaulted ceilings, while others have four-poster beds, and yet other rooms have spectacular views of the gorge. Wireless internet is available throughout the inn. Our colour scheme varies from room to room, and our furniture is made locally. Even some of our vanity basins were created by a local potter. Our thick stone walls are not only picturesque, but provide deep window wells in most rooms; the perfect place to luxuriate in the sunshine and enjoy the view.

A red brick cottage (Elora's first post office) and renovated stone buildings house some of our suites. The secluded Mill Cottage is right on the river, making it a preferred spot for romantic weekends.

Dining The Elora Mill Inn
Our dining room overlooks the roaring falls and the remarkable Tooth of Time, a stone islet in the centre of a waterfall that is a symbol of our community. Our kitchen creates menus around a cornucopia of local foods—trout, apples, cheese, maple syrup, lamb, organically-grown produce—specially produced for the inn.

We take great pride in our wine list. Our cellar has won awards for its wide range of Ontario wines.
